So I am having a great start to the New Year.
A very dear friend (and a knitting genius) has worked out all the problems with my Wendy Knits Shawl

and I am ready to begin the second section. One less project to rip.
But then I hate to report that my sweater shawl became a disaster.
It was knitting up beautifully and then I tried it on. Was I thinking I looked like Nicole Kidman when I started the project? It is a lovely piece but not one to be worn by someone who looks more like present-day Oprah than Nicole Kidman. So I started unraveling the skeins and skeins of yarn that I had knitted. I would like to turn it into a blanket but I'll wait and take my time before starting on another project.
So I spent the holidays not worrying about any large knitting projects and concentrated on knitting caps for Save the Children. I found a wonderful group on Ravelry, Knit One Save One,
and have been knitting these caps for the past ten days. I have eighteen done and hoping to complete thirty before the deadline.
And just in time for Christmas, I completed a scarf for my son. It was done in Noro Silk Garden. He was completely surprised (since this is the first time I finished something for him) and he loved it.
